Rotary Cockburn's FUN QUIZ , held monthly (1st Thursday) at Cockburn Community Recreation Centre/Bowls Club, from 6:30 to 9pm. Come early and enjoy an early dinner or snacks at Bowl & Fork Restaurant. Refreshments available at Legens Bar. Lots of prizes to be won, some by random draw, winners Grand Prize, a big raffle and Silent Auctions available. all couresy of a generous group of Sponsors. All net proceeds go to replenish our Charity fund, which contributes financial support to some 20 Cockburn Community Groups. CRC is located at 40 Birchley Road, Yangebup, just off Beeliar Drive near railway overpass. See attached Flyer. Official visit from District Governor, a joint mtg of Cockburn & Fremantle Rotary Clubs a social evening with partners/spouses. DG Ric does not usually meet with the Board prior to his meetings, so can members please come at 6pm so that everyone can order dinner by 6.30pm and have some fellwowship while people are ordering. We will sit at 6.45pm and eat and have short presentations from each President about their clubs and then have the DG presentation followed by fines sessions and any other business, and if time more fellowship until 9pm. Please RSVP by Thursday 3rd November so I can do some planning with Cockburn Bowling Club. Thanks Nat |

A Social Christmas dinner will be held on 23rd of November, The theme is "Pacific Islander" so bring your hula-hoops, Hawaiian shirts, etc. BBQ roasted vegetables will be provided by Paul & Caroline, can you all please let Paul and Caroline know what you will be bringing so we can make sure we enough variety in our courses/dishes. This 1st Wed Club mtg will feature speaker Gail Michael on the topic of Days For Girls. The talk will cover: - the worldwide DFG organisation and what their mission statement and benefits are; - the local chapter of DFG, the # of volunteers, the type of work volunteers do, the independence of local chapter and relationship to DFG international; - the outputs of DFG Freo Chapter, the number of girls helped (to stay in school 5 years longer and 250 total days over that time), thus achieving educational and social benefits, whilst also achieving cleaner water and healthier bodies & minds; - the financial needs of a 100% volunteer Chapter (unit cost of materials and total # of kits to be supplied) and how external funds from, for example, sausage sizzles and grants, will help and contribute to measured outcomes, in nearby poor countries and other international poor communities.
Gail has been a Senior School Teacher and TAFE lecturer for 35 years in cities and towns across Western Australia and United Kingdom. She is a qualified Trainer and Assessor in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, Business and Horticulture. She has a valid Working with Children Check and Police clearance. GailI currently works with the Education Department as a Flying Squad educator on a part time basis; her focus is now on her family, Days for Girls and enjoying life.

The FUN QUIZ program is a fundraiser for our charitable donations program and is held on the 1st Thursday of every month, The 2 Feb '23 event is the first back after the Christmas holidays. Over $1800 prizes this month, supplied by generous sponsors. Over half the prizes are awarded on basis of random draws. Come and enjoy a fun evening at the CRC Bowls club...see attached Flyer for details. Meals are available before hand at the Bowl & Fork restaurant on premises. Cash bar available at the Legends Bar also on premises.
