Guest Speakers: Ray Stepped in to talk about his walking exploits

Will give a talk another day on his actual walks but wanted to show us today his Walking Kit and his preparation of food for his trips on the Bibbulmun track and other walks.
His next planned walking trip is through Jordan.

His main gear is a pair of good walking shoes and a pair of walking sticks.
A Back Pack suitable to take all the gear
Light weight clothing with wet weather gear and a umbrella
Light weight tent (gave a demo on how light it is and easy to erect.
Sleeping Bag
GPS/ Phone and battery pack (looking at a foldable solar charger)
2 Litre camel pack for water

Ray does his own food preparation by drying and freeze seals his food which then is dehydrated by boiling in water on his collapsible bunsen burner.
water Proof bags are used to store food and other items
Carries a First Aid Kit inclusive of a snake bandage
Also Bog Roll and lightweight pooper scooper top bury the lot.

The weight of his pack overall inclusive of water is under 20kg which gets lighter as the food and water is consumed each day.

Looking forward to his walk through Jordan which will be hotter and less shade than he has had walking the Bibbulmun track.
