Special Thankyou to Barry Hoar and his team for the well run and organised Spring Fair at Manning Park on the 30th October. Ray McKinnon for organising the parking and Ian/Simon Watson for the marking out of the bays and the keeping the power to all participant vendors. Feed back was that the public enjoyed the day with the weather being very kind.
Thank you for all who attended Applecross Meeting on 2nd November at Tompkins on Swan to welcome the RVTT team from SriLanka who are to attend and gain training for the “Lab in the Box” PCR equipment set up in SriLanka Hospitals of Jaffna and Nurwara Eliya made available through a Joint Rotary Foundation Grant. They will attend Busselton, Bunbury and Perth Pathology Labs. Most enjoyable and meal (one course) was enjoyed by those who attended
Those members who attended the “Connect Expo” at the council last night were hosted by the City Cockburn, nibbles drinks. Speakers were Jeremy Chetty cofounder of Student Edge a panel comprising of Brad Patch GM Projects of Dockers, Mat Reid from LandCorp and Nadine Brazil from Ice Arena in Bibra Lake. Later we had a session of “Speed Meeting’ where we had couple minutes each change to change seats and speak to other volunteer groups to see what they were doing in the community and looking at partnerships with each other.

The RFDS in western Australia provides aero medical and primary health care to our vast 2.5 million square kilometre state. The RFDS in WA has 6 facilities located in Jandakot, Kalgoorlie, Meekatharra, Port Hedland, Derby and Broome and 15 aircraft, consisting of 14 Pilatus PC-12 aircraft and a Hawker 800XP Jet, otherwise known as the Rio Tinto LifeFlight Jet at a facility at Perth Airport.
Jandakot RFDS Base
The Jandakot base was established in 1964 and is located at Jandakot Airport, the second busiest airport in the Southern Hemisphere. Jandakot is the primary transfer base in WA, with administrative offices, state wide coordination centre, training facilities for nurses, doctors and pilots, an engineering hangar and patient transfer facilities. As the primary transfer base, Jandakot receives patients from all over the state, and performs patient repatriation to remote locations around WA.
The RFDS assists almost 70,000 people in WA every year through aero medical retrievals and transfers, remote healthcare clinics and our telehealth service.
