Our Guest Speaker was Nadine Brazil who as the Events and Special Projects Manager of the Cockburn Ice Arena gave us a snap shot of the business since it opened in Bibra Lake.

The Arena has 2 large ice rinks one used for public and the other for Ice sports including Hockey, Synchro/Artistic and curling to name a few. They also have a Café and a licensed restaurant Cabin 401 Bar and Grill for social and functions & events(serving Craft Beers on tap overlooking the ice sports rink. . They have meeting/party rooms and a function room upstairs

The ice uses rain water collected on site and the water is recycled to cool the heating towers.

The owners are very Community Minded and assist schools by giving away passes and running buses to the arena and hosting fundraising events by local groups. Hosting Home Schooled students in a group sessions. They have fundraising Packs and also raise funds for Starlight and Telethon and planning a Hockey-a-thon over 7 hours to raise funds.
Their motto is around Mind, Body and Social.

They also run Birthday parties for Mums and Dads to provide something different for their young ones to have fun on their birthday with friends and or Corporate bonding or Fundraisers.

They have a full Pro Shop for those wanting to buy but do hire out skates for the public to come and use the rink with qualified instructors to assist the learners and or have lessons to progress to the events like Synchro/Artistic/Hockey or just Studio Classes.

They are also looking for funds to raise sufficient to buy a portable sling to help the disabled enjoy the rink to go with their chair they have made to assist fully disabled to enjoy the sensation of skating on ice.

If you want to just come and watch you are welcome to come into the Bar and Grill or the Café at any time when open to the public.

Welcome any time.
Address: 401 Progress Drive, Bibra Lake WA (just off North Lake road and down the road from Adventure World)
